Cornhole Bag Dimensions and Weight

What is the correct weight of a cornhole bag?

The correct weight of a cornhole bag should be 14 to 16 ounces for regulation play. It should be filled with FEED corn only, and not beans or any other type of filler. In order to ensure that the proper weight is achieved, a digital postal scale should be used. As you can see from the picture here, these cornhole bags are weighing in a 15.8 ounces, which is within the required weight limits according to the American Cornhole Association.Cornhole Bags Indianapolis

Cornhole Bags For Sale

Cornhole Bags For Sale

All cornhole bags are made with genuine duck cloth and whole kernal feed corn.  They are measured with a digital postal scale to ensure accuracy.

Some suppliers fill their cornhole bags with beans or some other type of synthetic filler.  If you are an cornhole enthusiast like I am, then you want the genuine product. Make sure you buy from a supplier that knows how to make them.

TRIPLE STICHING

cornhole bags for saleThere has been ongoing discussion as to whether or not cornhole bags need to be double, triple or quadruple stiched.  Well, how about listening to the years of field testing that says Triple Stitching is the right way to do it.

Double stitching is not enough (unless you are using a nylon thread) so the best and most durable cornhole bag is the triple stitched bag.

All Sets are custom made. And I usually make them as needed.

Cornhole Bages come in all sizes and colors. I have the colors shown in the picture above available and ready to go.  Call me for orders.

Where To Buy Cornhole Bags

Where to buy cornhole bags?

If you’re not planning on making the bags yourself, you’re probably wondering where to buy cornhole bags and that’s how you’ve found this webpage

Make sure you find someone who makes their bags according to the American Cornhole Association.  The specifications are as follows:

  • 6×6 (inches) finished square bag
  • Bags made of Duckcloth fabric
  • Triple stitched for reinforcement
  • Filled with Feedcorn

If you find a supplier that doesn’t make their bags according to these specifications, don’t buy them. Someone who is making bags that are made of slippery canvas, or filled with beans doesn’t care enough about the game in the first place, so they’re probably not making the cornhole bag to the best quality possible.

Your Bags Should Produce CornDust when you play!!!

This is why the bags should be filled with feedcorn and NOT beans or other filler. As the bag wears, the corn will crack and break inside of the bag and produce a dust that lines the high glossed boards making for a slippery surface which is part of the strategy and sometimes difficulty of the game.

Cornhole bags that are made out of anything BUT FeedCorn should not be used.

ALL OF my bags are Triple Stitched and guaranteed. I have been making cornhole bags for over 8 years now and still have the very first set that I ever made. There’s something to be said about a nicely broken in set of bags. Some of the store bought brands (from WalMart or Sears) feel the same when you throw them the first time as they do when you throw them the 50th time. You need a set that you can break in, kind of like a nice pair of cowboy boots.
